Workshops

Overview

Through its Financial Literacy D.C. Outreach, FLF works with community groups to bring financial education to teenagers and young adults across Washington, D.C.  By teaching young Washingtonians financial management skills before they get their first credit card, they will be less likely to fall victims of predatory practices.  FLF works with area banks and credit unions to open savings and checking accounts, and teaches students to monitor their accounts on-line.  Having instant access to the accounts also enables students to keep track of their spending.

Workshop Scheduling

Most workshops are conducted during the weekend or as part of school activities.  Workshops generally last 2 – 4 hours and FLF instructors provide resources for students to gain further assistance with their finances.

Cost

The cost for workshops is nominal and is intended only to cover the costs of instructions and teaching materials.
