FLF has worked with charter schools to develop a mandatory financial management component as part of life skills training. Teaching students how to manage their money and make wise financial decisions will prepare them for college and life. Many employers require potential hires to have sound credit and more students drop out of college because of financial mismanagement than for academic failure. FLF works closely with school administrators to develop curriculum tailored to meet the individual needs of students. This can include obtaining credit scores (for students 18 years of age and over), opening savings and checking accounts, developing budgets, and helping students with their taxes.
