

Doug Schiffman is a businessman and entrepreneur who is now using his business acumen and experience in the educational and philanthropic sectors. After starting and running successful information company, Doug founded a wholesale computer business and a marketing consulting practice. For the last six years, he has been the "businessman-in-residence" for the Montgomery County (MD) School System.
He currently serves on the Boards of Places for People (a provider of housing for the homeless and mentally ill), the Headwaters Educational Foundation (a provider of support to the Rappahannock County School system), and College Tracks (a Montgomery County college access service provider). He was also the co-founder of the Montgomery County Business Roundtable for Education, a unique business-school partnership, and served for many years as the Vice-President on the Montgomery County Mental Health Association.
Doug is married with three (grown) children and six grandchildren.
